In West Africa, foundation human nature operates a Health Centre. Thanks to a German donor, Hannelore Huttel the foundations were already in place. At the beginning of 2003, she handed it over to foundation human nature to manage. We are trying to replicate the model that has worked so successfully in Ecuador. Primarily, by obtaining staff (doctor, midwife, nurse, laboratory technician) from the government, and empowering the local communities to work together on all the issues that need to be addressed: fresh water, waste management, gender issues, school support and co-ordination.

Medical attention 24 hours / day, full midwife services, health education and health promotion are the daily tasks of the Ghanaian personnel working alongside their international co-workers. An ambulance for emergency transfers to one of Ghana’s best hospitals and a laboratory, enable us to provide high-quality health care. 8,000 people are now provided with medical assistance from the foundation human nature health centre in Ghana.
